CAJEPUT (Melaleuca leucadendron var. cajuputi):  This SHeMeN is held in high regards in the Middle East and Australia and is used for colds, catarrh, cough, headaches, throat infections, toothaches, sore and aching muscles, fever (cholera) and various skin problems.  It is used for respiratory infections, chronic laryngitis, sinusitis and bronchitis, asthma, hay fever, sore throat, cystitis, rheumatism, stiff joints, arthritis, intestinal problems, to expel roundworms, insect bites, oily skin, spots, acne, flu and viral infections.

In traditional aromatherapy, Cajeput SHeMeN is used for skin problems including oily skin, acne, psoriasis, ringworm (tinea), aging skin and age spots. In addition, it is used for arthritis and rheumatism, gout, cystitis, neuralgia, headaches, for muscle aches and pains, as well as for toothache. Because of its ability to aid the respiratory and immune system, it is used in blends for issues such as bronchitis, colds, flu, sinusitis, and for sore throat.

This oil is colorless to pale yellow-green and has a sharp and penetrating camphoraceous aroma.

Aborigines of Australia crush the leaves and twigs of the Cajeput tree and them over their body to relief aches and pains.  Cajeput has been used historically in Asian fok medicine for colds, headaches, throat infections (do NOT swallow), aches, rheumatism and for multitude skin diseases .  It has been produced commercially in Europe since 1938.

This SHeMeN comes from a towering evergreen tree that is closely related to Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia).   The Cajeput tree grows up to 100 feet tall having a flexible trunk covered with spongy white bark that easily flakes off and is also referred to as Paperbark Tree, White Wood and White Tea Tree.

The Cajeput tree grows wild in parts of Malaysia, Indonesia, the Phillipines, Vietnam, Java, Southwest Asia, and Australia. Our Therapeutic-Quality Cajeput Essential Oil is Eco-Cultivated in Australia where it is steam-distilled from the tree’s fresh leaves and twigs

CAUTION:  Use a carrier oil as it can irritate and blister sensitive skin.  This SHeMeN is generally non-toxic and non-irritating at low concentrations. However, the undiluted oil can be very stimulating and has been known to produce a warming sensation in the skin and a quickened pulse. Therefore, undiluted Cajeput Essential Oil should NOT be used in the bath, at night, or with the very frail, elderly, young children, or the anxious.
