Description

RavENsara (Ravensara aromatica):  aka Clove Nutmeg in some regions of the world, this SHeMeN is used because it is known to be anti-viral, antibacterial, antibiotic, antifungal, anti-infectious, antiseptic, anti-microbial, anti-spasmodic, nerve tonic, dry cough, an expectorant and supporting to nerves.  It has been used for pain for headaches, toothaches, earaches, muscular and joint pain, rheumatism, gout pain and arthritis.  Also known to be used for boils, edema (diuretic), acne, shingles, herpes virus*, viral infections, colds, sore throat, lung infections, cancer, pneumonia and to balance blood and lymphatic circulation.  Other uses are to aid menstrual cramps, diarrhea, skin irritation and nervous disorders.  Used mixed with carrier oil for bathing or in a diffuser.  *See also, Melissa or Melissa Blend (Lemon Balm) for herpes.

NOTE:  Ravensara (Ravensara aromatica) is NOT the same as Ravintsara (Cinnamomum camphora)

RAVINTSARA means “good leaves” in Madagascar and is known as “the oil that heals.”   It is considered to be universal oil much like LAVENDER because of its many uses.  May be anti-viral, antibacterial, antibiotic, antifungal, anti-infectious, antiseptic, an expectorant and supporting to nerves.  May aid respiratory problems, cuts, wounds, burns, liver, flu, lung infections, rhinopharyngitis, sinusitis, viral hepatitis, cholera, herpes, infectious mononucleosis, insomnia and muscle fatigue.
