YLANG YLANG COMPLETE (Cananga odorata): YLANG YLANG (meaning flower or queen of flowers in Chinese) is distilled over a longer period of time than most plants. This creates different grades of Ylang Ylang. The different grades are Ylang Ylang Extra, Ylang Ylang 1, Ylang Ylang 2, Ylang Ylang 3 and Ylang Ylang Complete. Ylang Ylang Complete is the ENTIRE extraction and therefore contains all grades of the oil. Ylang Ylang is calming, relaxing, and soothing to nervous system, anti-spasmodic. Assists balancing the equilibrium and heart function, high blood pressure, palpitations, tachycardia, arterial hypertension, general tonic, diabetes, mental fatigue, anxiety, depression, insomnia, hair loss, reducing hyperpnea (abnormally fast breathing) and general skin care (wrinkles, balancing oily skin). Often worn as a perfume.
Ylang Ylang Complete is taken from the last of the distillation timing containing higher levels of sesquiterpenes and a sweet, but, herbaceous aroma.
Ylang Ylang (meaning flower of flowers – Tagalog, Philippine language) is distilled in “fractions” meaning the essential oil is taken off from different stages and timing (Extra, 1, 2, 3 and Complete) of the distillation process. There is not a difference in quality of the essential oil; however, there is a difference of chemical constituents and aroma. The FIRST fraction is called Ylang Ylang “EXTRA” which contains more esters and has a more fruity and sweeter aroma than Ylang Ylang COMPLETE.
